The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the MIA Archive, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science,
held a presentation of the second stage of the project entitled “Explore History - Become Researcher”. The event was attended by Mr.
Givi Mikanadze, Rector of the MIA Academy, Mr. Omar Tushurashvili, Director of the MIA Archive, Ms. Lia Gigauri, Deputy
Minister of Education and Science, rectors of the universities in Telavi, Gori, Zugdidi and Kutaisi, students studying at faculty of
history, public school history teachers and pupils.
The project aims at making historical records concerning modern history of Georgia, which are preserved in the MIA Archive and are
accessible to public, interesting to the young people. Another goal of the project is to help both pupils and students to develop specific
research skills, as well as creative thinking and necessary skills for working on the source.
The second stage of the project will be implemented in the Georgian regions, including Kutaisi, Telavi, Zugdidi, Batumi and Gori. 5
public schools and 5 students have been selected in the regions.
